There are few things in life that bring me as much joy as shopping for makeup gives me. Nope, nothing. There is nothing in this world that gives me as much joy as shopping for makeup does. And nail products. And glitter. So when I got the email that I could pre-order my tickets to The Makeup Show, I was probably the first to buy. Hell I was prepping for this back in December.
So (of course) I got off of work and attended the event both days just like last year and had the best time. This year, unlike last year, I really focused on learning and getting inspired by the amazing makeup artists attending and speaking at the event. But I (of course) made sure to pick up a couple of things for my kit and for myself. Mostly for myself, who the fuck am I kidding. I will be doing in depth reviews on these products once I get the chance to really try them out for you guys. On with the haul!
My first stop was going to the MoYou London booth so I could pick up some plates and polish. To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the selection available there but I managed to pick up some plates and polishes I didn't have.
Next stop I made was to the Eye Kandy booth. I can honestly say I regret buying these glitters. It was a total impulse purchase that five minutes after purchasing I realized I had something very similar from Mehron last year that not only I hadn't really used, but was better, cheaper and came with a lot more product.
My next purchase was at Ricky's NYC which more than made up for my previous disappointing purchase. I went a little crazy with the lip products, but also copped a very essential contouring kit which is pretty bomb awesome so far. Keep an eye out for a review on that very soon.
Last but certainly not least, I picked up a double ended foundation stick, making it a lot easier to contour as well as mix foundations for a better color match. I actually listened to Ashunta Sheriff's lecture and bought this foundation right after. Keep a lookout for this review coming up very soon as well.
