Review: OPI New Orleans Collection Part 1

Do you know when  you see a collection by a polish brand and think "Meh" all around but then there are a couple of colors that draw you in and hit it so out of the park that you don't even care? OPI'S New Orleans Collection is that for me.

There are a total of 12 polishes for this collection, some on the more neutral side of things and some a little more and since I love being thorough and actually wearing the polishes to test them out, I'll be doing it in 3 parts. And although it's not my favorite collection, I think there is something NOLA for everybody in whichever color suits them best.

On with the review!

I'm So Swamped is a dusty green creme color that is possibly a 1-coater, depending on how you apply. This was the color that stood out for me the most in this collection because you don't necessarily see it often. It turned out really pretty on my skin tone and was a dream to apply. Although it's not my favorite of the collection, it's definitely up there on the list. The wear time on this was also nice, lasted about 2 days on my nails which is pretty average.

She's A Bad Muffaletta is described as a hot-red creme, but i don't see a bit of red in it. To me it's way more coral/pink, which is a fun but typical spring color. I feel like we've seen this color a dozen times before by many other companies. It's a nice color but it's definitely one of the safer ones in this collection. It applies beautifully and can also be a 1-coater depending on how you apply. I will say, this didn't chip at all for me. I removed it after two days with no chips or tip wear.

Rich Girls and Po Boys is another creme for the collection, a nice soft, dusty blue. It photographed a little brighter for me but the color pictured in the bottle is truer to the color than what appears on my nails. This was another standout for me for the collection. It's such a pretty dusty blue that I can honestly say I don't necessarily have anything similar which is always a plus. It also fits well with the New Orleans theme. I will say this chipped after about a day for me which is ok, but not great. The application was also good, and like the others reviewed today, could possibly be a 1-coater.

Show Me Your Tips Did I intentionally save the best for last. Yes, yes I did. This color is heaven. Literally, it reminds me of the sky, it reminds me of angels it's ..... I have no other words. It's a nice shimmery periwinkle with silver shimmer which goes on a little shear at first but that's to be expected with non creme polishes. I applied 2 heavy coats to get full opacity. The wear time isn't the best but I don't even care. The color is that good. I've rocked this color a couple of times since buying it, so stay tuned for an upcoming tutorial using this and some of my new MoYou London plates.

Thanks for tuning in! Check out part 2 of the New Orleans collection next Wednesday. Love you guys!
