Tech Talk Tuesday: Gotta Catch Em All

Hello lovelies and I bring you another edition of Tech Talk Tuesday. Last week the tech world imploded with nostalgia when Pokemon Go hit. What is Pokemon Go? I asked myself that many times before I dove in head first and decided to download the app.

I have to admit that I didn't watch the show at all when it first aired. Haven't watched any of the movies. It's not something I was at all familiar with so I don't have that feeling of nostalgia going into it. All of that being said, I can't stop playing this fucking game.

The point of the game? I have no idea. My fiancee actually did play the game growing up and he's explained the basic concept to me. In the game or the show, you've got Pocket Monsters aka Pokemons that are in the wild.

You're goal as a Pokemon trainer is to find different Pokemon and train them to fight in battles for you. Different Pokemon fight in their own individual ways, so it's up to you to choose a Pokemon with particular strengths that will help you beat whichever Pokemon you're battling.

There are Pokestops, where you can pick up Pokeballs, coins, eggs and other random things you might need, and Gyms, where you put your Pokemon to the test and battle it out to claim said gym after you join a team.

To be honest, I think the fun is in the catching them. Maybe because I didn't grow up with the game, but it's just been fun walking around my neighborhood looking for these imaginary little creatures.

Is this game for everyone? Obviously not. But it's worth a try if you like a good scavenger hunt. Plus anything that promotes getting out of the house and actually doing something gets an A+ in my book.
