Hello lovelies! Hope you all are having a fabulous week, but thank god it's Friday. Unless you work Saturdays. Then I'm sorry.
Today I bring you some of my faves for the month of June. These products aren't necessarily new or new to me, but I found myself grabbing for them a lot this month.
Burt's Bees has always been a favorite brand of mine, but their Sensitive skin facial cleansing towelettes have been a must on my list of beauty needs for years. Although I don't necessarily have sensitive skin, I like that this version doesn't leave my face sticky like their original towelettes do.
I like having these available all the time, so I tend to have them in my purse. I hate wearing makeup when it gets hot like this, but since I have to wear a full face for work, I use the sheets to get off what I can when I get off. These work very nicely and the scent is pretty mild.
I have very dry hair. I am partly to blame for that fact because I have an unhealthy obsession with my flat iron, but genetics do play a part. I've been using Davines products since I've started working at my salon, and I love switching off between Love Smooth, NouNou and Momo. Now that I'm trying to wear my hair more naturally and embrace my curl, I find that Momo is moisturizing enough that it hydrates my hair but won't necessarily weigh it down.
Didn't I just write about this? Yup. I never got the point of shower jellies because I thought it was gimmicky. And to be completely honest it totally is. But it's so much fun. I fell so hard for this gimmick that I bought another little tub of it, even if the first one only lasted 10 days. Whoosh is the only shower jelly that I've tried and the smell is amazing. It's so fresh and citrusy and a total wake up call in the morning. I'm smarter this time around with my second tub. I cut the slab into cubes so I won't waste it as easily. Next time I'll try whipping it. Keep an eye out for this little adventure because there's definitely more to come.
During the summer when I'm a little tanner than normal, I like rocking a white nail. I just love that aesthetic. But anyone who has tried a white polish knows how much of a mother fucker they tend to be. Some are easy to apply but super sheer and patchy, while others have a horrible texture and can look chalky. Funky Fingers Gesso is very easy to apply and goes opaque in 1-2 coats. No patchiness or lumpy texture. It works as a great stamping polish as well and can be used under neons to make them pop a little more.
Going back to what I said about not loving having to wear makeup during the summer heat, an easy way to trick them all is with a super bright lipstick. MAC's Heroine isn't necessarily super bright, but it's a bright enough violet to trick people into thinking you're wearing more makeup than you are. I like pairing this with a nice tinted moisturizer, a little bit of highlighter and some mascara and usually that's it for me. Maybe a little blush if it's a stain.
That's it for my June faves! Love you guys!

ReplyDeleteI want to try to make some too, I've looked up some recipes. I'm just deciding whether to use gelatin or agar agar. They're so much fun
