Monthly Faves: May

It goes to say that I'd have to change the name of my monthly faves, so I figured I'd keep it simple. I'm also going to mix it up a bit and feature products that are both new or something that I have been going to repeatedly over the month.

I'll try to feature a variety of products, sometimes hair and skincare as well as the usual makeup and nail products that I predominantly feature. Anything really, that's made my life easier or better within the past month.

On with my faves!

The sun is starting to burn down here in bright and beachy Florida, and I tend to burn really easily. The days I don't wear makeup, I've been slathering on my Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid-Lotion Sunscreen in SPF 55.  I love using this because it's one of the only sunscreens that doesn't cause me to break out and also doesn't burn if I sweat and it drips into my eyes.

During the summer months, I prefer a lighter makeup application and this Tarte Cheek Stain in True Love is perfect. It really sinks into my skin and makes my blush look so natural. It's a stain, so a heavier hand is required to properly apply to darker skin tones. I usually let it set on my face for a couple of minutes then I blend it into my cheeks. Plus, the jelly like formula of this stain is easier to apply than liquid stains and given the size, it'll last you a long time, even if you're using it on a daily basis.

I love a good summer glow, but my usual Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop is a bit much for a little sheen, especially for those like me with oilier skin. Moonstone has been my fave recently, making my skin look radiant and healthy. I apply it to just the tops of my cheeks and right above my cupid's bow and I'm done.

No matter what lipstick I'm wearing, I always prep my lips by using Maybelline's Baby Lips balm. I usually use Quenched, which has no color or flavor to it, right before I put on a lipstick or if I'm just hanging around the house. My other favorite flavor, Cherry Me, I use when I go without makeup and just want to keep my lips hydrated. Plus, these little suckers have an SPF of 20. Not super high but enough to keep your lips from burning as long as you reapply.

I think many of you that read this blog knew this was coming. This has been such a fun summer collection. I've been wearing one if not all of these shades all month long. The colors are all gorgeous and the wear and opacity is so spot in. Cheers to Essie, they really did a phenomenal job.

That's it for May's Faves! What have been your faves for the month? Let me know! Love you guys!

  1. do I spy your becca showing the telltale signs of being re-pressed? I want to grab one of those, but my house is dangerous for delicate things!

    1. OH yeah, lol. I've had two because highlighters and both have crumbled rather easily. Thankfully I press them back together, but still

    1. To be honest, I'm not a fan of Essie polishes either, but this collection is so worth it. The formula is a million times better than any other Essie polish I've used

    1. Thanks! I love the brights, especially during the summer. The highlighter is amazing, I love a lot of Becca's products, but be careful. They break very easily :/

  5. I may have to get that Neutrogena Sun screen! I have one from L'Oreal and it tends to burn the skin around My eyes.

    1. Hopefully it works for you! I have really sensitive eyes since I have to wear glass contact lenses, and suscreens usually burn my eyes. This one doesn't, thankfully.
