Review: OPI's Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection Part 1 + Giveaway!

Good day, my loves! Today I bring you the highly anticipated Alice Through The Looking Glass collection by OPI. I have to start off by saying that I was amped a little more than most for this, being that Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite childhood books, the cartoon was my fave, and I actually loved the Burton adaptation (one of the few, apparently).

When I saw the photos of the collection, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't what I imagined it would be. I think this was the perfect time for OPI to really go out of the box, maybe introduce some holos, a little more shimmers or some brighter, funner colors. We got a lot of dupes in this collection. That being said, it's not bad and it still stays true to Alice. It's just a little too safe, unfortunately.

As always, I will be splitting this review into two parts, so that I can really get into how these polishes wear. But because I'm making you wait, I figured I'd have a little bit of a giveaway! All you have to do is follow me on Instagram! Winner will be picked and announced Wednesday via this blog along with the rest of the review. Speaking of review, on with it!

Oh My Majesty, one of the most unique color in the collection, is actually one of my least favorites. It's not that it's not pretty, because I can appreciate that. It's a nice creamy white with gold and pink shimmering iridescence in it. It reminds me a lot like opal, which I'm not necessarily a fan of. Besides that, the color is really pretty, applies really nicely and goes on with 2 heavy coats or 3 lighter ones. It's a bit streaky but should be fine after the third coat. Wear time was great, only showing a little tip wear after a day.

A Mirror Escape is a nice champagne gold with gold and silver glitter flecks in it. This one was OK for me, not great but not boring. The color looked great on my skin tone and the application was easy. I will say this went on pretty heavy after 1 coat, which is pretty bomb for a glitter. I applied a second coat but have to say that it wasn't necessarily needed. The wear time is ok, chipped and peeled around 12 hrs through the manicure.

Having A Big Head Day is your typical red. Not too blue, not too orange, it's perfectly red. A little on the thinner side but that aside, it is a 1 coat red. You read that right, another 1 coater in this collection. Application was nice, even if it was on the thinner side. I do recommend a good ridge filling base coat or two coats of a top coat.Wear time on this was amazing, not chipping at all. I did have issues removing it, since i stained my nail beds quite a bit. If you're in need of a good red, I'd definitely pick it up, but it's nothing spectacular.

Fearlessly Alice is amazing. If you were going to pick up only one polish from this collection, Fearlessly Alice should be it. It's such a bright, fun summer color and it totally fits in the world of Wonderland for me. This is another one that is a 1 coat polish, which is pretty consistent with the rest of the collection. Wear time is also amazing, not even showing a bit of tip wear by the time I took it off. It does stain a bit, which is pretty normal for bright blue polishes, but it was mostly just around the cuticle area as opposed to the entire nailbed.

Tune in next Wednesday for the rest of the review as well as the giveaway winner announcement!

Love you guys!
