Review: Essie Shimmer Brights Collection Part 1

Can I just say before I say anything else that I'm not a huge Essie fan. They've always been pretty beige and bland to me. But this collection..... let me take a second..... this collection is life. LIFE. LIIIIIIFE.

If you remember, I wasn't a big fan of their Resort Collection. It wasn't what I was expecting for a collection based on India. Then I saw the previews for their Summer collection and I died.

The shimmer brights collection is a collection of six polishes, all shimmery and bright, like the colors of the rainbow. Like always, I'm going to be splitting this review up into 2 parts since I really like to feel the way the polish wears.

Seen on the Scene is a very pretty shimmery pink which goes opaque in 1-2 coats. Spoiler alert, all of the polishes in this collection are opaque in 1-2 coats(!!!!!). The formula for this polishes is really nice but it does stain a bit so be careful around the cuticle area. Wear time was really good, showing no signs of chipping or tip wear while I was wearing it.

Sexy Plunge is a beautiful dusty orange with gold shimmer flecks. This is my least favorite of the collection but I still really like it a lot. The color is very vibrant (camera does nothing for it) and application is pretty amazing. Wear time is also awesome, showing no signs of tip wear or chipping through ti's course on my nails.

Aim to Misbehave is actually Essie's 1000th shade! Congrats! This color really surprised me. Essie doesn't really do colors like this one, and it's actually a good yellow. Color me fucking shocked. The formula was pretty great to work with, going opaque in 1-2 coats. Formula was nice, not goopy or chalky like some other yellows I've used. The shimmer is gorgeous and the wear time is spectacular. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

That is it for part 1 of this review, tune in next Wednesday for the next part of the review! Love you guys!
