A Little Something To Quench Your Thirst

You know I had to, right? I'm not a Beyonce fan, didn't really care about her previous albums but I did like the aesthetic of the Formation video, so I tuned in for Lemonade and was pleasantly surprised.

I enjoyed the hour long visual album, especially how she incorporated poetry from other artists in to fit in with the lyrics of an extremely personal album. Even if you're not a fan, you should really check it out. Use Tidal for that free 30 day trial just to watch it (cause that's totally what I did).

Getting back to my mani, I wanted something simple and to the point.

What You Need

Nicole By OPI Hit The Lights (or any bright yellow)
Zoya Purity  (or any white)
Makeup Sponge triangles
Nail polish remover
Felt Squares or Cotton Pads/Balls

Firstly, start off by using Sally Hansen's Peel Off Base Coat as a barrior so your skin doesn't get crazy when you sponge on the color. I like it better than a latex barrier because once dried, my fingers don't get stuck together. While that's drying, apply a base coat followed by one coat of Zoya's Purity. Paint the tips of your nails with Nicole by OPI's Hit The Lights.

Once the polish and Peel Off has dried, layer Purity and Hit The Lights on a sponge, and sponge that onto your nail, making sure that the white part is going over most of your nail and the yellow part covering your tips. Blend out the line using the sponge. I skipped my ring finger for an accent, just so that it shows more of the lemons.

Once you're done sponging on the color, I stamped over all my fingers with MoYou London's Tropical 08 plate using Hit The Lights. I used the lemon image, but there's a bunch of different fun fruit to choose from. I topped it off with Seche Vite, removed the Peel Off and cleaned up using E.L.F's now discontinued (FML) concealer brush. I snapped some pictures with and without a matte top coat so it's totally optional, though I do prefer the matte for this look.

Hope you like and if you try this on yourself, don't forgot to tag #LIPSTICKSANDNAILPOLISH on all the things so I can see your looks!

Love you guys!
